Pakistani Women: Promoting Agents of Healthy Eating Habits in Catalonia

PakCat Program

About the project

Pakistani women: promoting agents of healthy eating habits is a doctoral thesis of Saba Mohamed Bibi, dietitian-nutritionist and PhD student in Food and Nutrition at the University of Barcelona. Mohamed Bibi's thesis, co-supervised by Crisitina Vaqué Crusellas from the University of Vic - Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVIC-UCC) and Jesús Contreras Hernández from the University of Barcelona, aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a culturally and linguistically adapted food education strategy for Pakistani women who reside in Badalona and Santa Coloma de Gramenet. After participating in ten food education sessions, the participants are taking on the role of promoting agents of healthy eating habits for the rest of the Pakistani community living in Catalonia.
